Tupu invites teens to ‘juz relax’
Teenagers, are you bored, lonely, and have nothing to do? Join in the fun at Tupu Youth Library’s ‘juz relax' café night.
Chill out to great live music from local acts such as Adullam from 274 Youthcore, Hip-hop educationalists Shyne Skool, bands from local school Tangaroa College and many more. Also on the night, you can check out a spectacular art exhibition by Otara’s up-and-coming young artists while enjoying a hot drink with some cookies.
Tupu’s new Youth Librarian Richard Misilei says “The event is a good way to encourage youth to visit the library and see what an easy, yet important place it can be for their learning and development.
“Libraries aren’t just about books these days. It’s all about information and having the ability to find it and use it well. The services we have at Tupu should hopefully encourage our youth to be information-seekers and users. It’s a tool we believe will be useful for life.”
Manager of Tupu Youth Library Noel Fe’ao says “We’re developing dynamic strategies to connect the youth of Manukau to the library.”
