Wheelie wet so look in your letterbox for recycling information
Due to the onset of wet weather, information packs for the new blue-lidded recycling bins will be placed in your letterbox, rather than taped to the lid of the bin, to make sure they remain dry.
Residents are reminded to remove the new bins from the footpath or kerbside to their property promptly after receiving them and to read the bin information pack to familiarise themselves with the new service, which comes into effect in late June.
The information pack includes a brochure with details about the new service and a fridge magnet recycling collection calendar.
For those that have received rain-damaged information packs, visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/recycling to download a copy of the brochure and collection calendar or contact the council on 379 2028 to have a fresh pack sent out.
The bin deliveries are on schedule with approximately 65,000 bins delivered so far. Bin delivery contractors are distributing bins to the western side of the city – west of Manukau Road. The city’s central areas will receive the new bins in June.
