Special public holiday timetable on ANZAC Day
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) advises that a special public transport holiday timetable will be
operating on ANZAC Day, Friday 25 April 2008, including earlier Link buses to the Dawn Service, free buses for veterans
and some changes to train services.
Additional early Link buses will take Aucklanders to the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
Link buses will be operating from 5am every 15 minutes in both directions, courtesy of NZ Bus.
Those who are attending the Dawn Service can alight at either Auckland Hospital to the west of the Domain, or on Parnell
Road (outside the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind) on the east side of the Domain.
Returned Service Men and Women who show their RSA membership badge or medals to the bus driver will be able to ride
Stagecoach (including the Link), Go West and North Star buses for free all day.
Aucklanders planning to use public transport on ANZAC Day are reminded that a public holiday timetable will be in
operation on this day.
Southern Line train passengers are advised that between Friday 25 April and Sunday 27 April a bus replacement service
will be operating for all stations between Papakura and Papatoetoe to allow for major maintenance works. Southern Line
train services between Papatoetoe and Britomart will be operating normally.
Western Line rail passengers are advised that on ANZAC Day and on Saturday 26 April bus replacements will also be
operating between Henderson and Waitakere.
Where buses replace trains, normal train fares will apply for the entire journey. Passengers should look out for the
RAIL BUS sign at affected stations and should allow more time for their journey.
