Thanks a bunch!
Do you know someone whose volunteer work in your community deserves official recognition? It’s time for another round of Manukau City Council Community Boards’ Volunteer Awards.
This year it’s the turn of Clevedon, Papatoetoe, Pakuranga and Manurewa communities.
Nominations are now open. Members of the public can nominate a volunteer to receive acknowledgement for their work in the community.
Mayor Len Brown says, “Volunteers enhance the lively spirit of Manukau’s communities. Their support and devotion to the community is greatly appreciated so it is wonderful to have the opportunity to thank all of these hardworking, dedicated people.
“Without volunteers, many organisations and clubs would struggle to keep afloat. Manukau city is lucky to have so many volunteers willing to help out.”
The awards have become more popular by the year, so they are now held over two years covering different parts of the city. Next year it will be the turn of Botany, Howick, Mangere and Otara communities.
Nomination forms for volunteers working in the Clevedon, Papatoetoe, Pakuranga and Manurewa communities are available from Manukau Libraries, Citizens Advice Bureaux, leisure and arts centres, council’s Customer Centre. The form is also available on the website at http://www.manukau.govt.nz/nominatevolunteers
The closing date for nominations is Friday 16 May.
