John Lister wins in Avondale-Roskill
Citizens & Ratepayers are pleased to be back up to its 2007 election result of 11 sitting councillors after John Lister’s successful election as councillor in the Avondale-Roskill by-election for Auckland City.
John Lister has won by 414 votes in a low turnout result of around 26%, compared to around 39% in the October 2007 local body elections.
“It’s great to be part of the C team on council, and I’m looking forward to rolling-up my sleeves to help local residents in Avondale-Roskill. It’s time to get on with delivering on C’s promises to deliver value for money with progress,” said John Lister, successful C candidate and councillor-elect.
“I’d also like to thank my opponents for a friendly and positive spirited contest”, said Mr Lister.
“I’m delighted that C is back up to full numbers at Auckland City Council. This will help C’s program to keep rates affordable and deliver local projects that much easier,” said John Slater, President of C
John Lister is the Chief Executive of the Spirit of Adventure Trust, former CEO of the CCS, a former General Manager of Wattie’s Export Division, and current president of the Akarana Golf Club.
He replaces former C Councillor Linda Leighton, who passed away in November of 2007 from a long illness.
