New councillor elected for Avondale/Roskill ward
Auckland City Council Electoral Officer, Dale Ofsoske, has declared John Lister the newly elected councillor for the Avondale/Roskill ward.
Mr Lister, the Citizens & Ratepayers candidate, received 4710 votes in the by-election held on Wednesday 9 April.
The unsuccessful candidates were:

The by-election’s three-week postal voting period began on 18 March 2008 and voter turn-out was 26.1 per cent.
Mr Lister replaces sitting councillor Linda Leighton who passed away in November 2007.
