Lake Terrace Rd reopens
Council staff and contractors have now managed to partially restore vehicle access through Lake Terrace Road.
Part of the road has been closed since last week due to health and safety concerns after the collapse of a drain wall.
The Christchurch City Council had hoped to have the road reopened over the weekend but ongoing safety concerns resulted in the closure continuing.
The Council and City Care are working under urgency to repair the drain and get the road reopened. This afternoon backfilling on the drain was completed and one lane of Lake Terrace Road has now been reopened. It may take several weeks before the repairs are finished completely and full access is restored. .
Council apologises for the major disruption that this has caused to residents in the area.
