RNZAF Airshow Free to Hamilton Ticketholders
The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Open Day and Air Show at Ohakea on Sunday 16 March will be free of charge to those people who had bought tickets to the Hamilton Airshow, scheduled for this weekend.
Chief of Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Graham Lintott said that while the RNZAF had nothing to do with the management or organisation of the Hamilton Airshow, we are keen to showcase New Zealand aviation and our Air Force in particular.
“The RNZAF shares the disappointment of those who had bought tickets to the Hamilton Air Show, particularly those with young families.
So by way of a modest gesture we would like to invite those who had purchased tickets, and their families, to come to the airbase next week and view what promises to be a great open day and airshow,” Air Vice-Marshal Lintott said
Proof of Hamilton Airshow ticket purchase will be required. A full military and civilian aircraft flying programme including RNZAF Iroquois helicopter, P-3K2 Orion,
C-130 Hercules, Red Checkers and Kiwi Blue display teams, and Royal Australian Air Force F-111 bombers has been scheduled.
Gates of the RNZAF Base at Ohakea open at 9.00am.
