Devonport ferry services increased
North Shore residents will find it even easier to commute the stress-free way from Devonport, just a 15-minute ferry
ride to Auckland’s CBD, with the introduction of more ferry services between Downtown Auckland and Devonport. The
Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is also encouraging residents to take advantage of the seven-day Devonport
Bayswater Pass which integrates local bus and ferry services and train services between Britomart and Kingsland, Glen
Innes and Ellerslie.
ARTA General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “Extra Fullers ferry services from Downtown Auckland to
Devonport will run at 5.15pm, 5.45pm and 6.15pm, and additional capacity will be built into morning sailings.”
Mr Lambert says that Devonport and Bayswater residents should look out for an information pack in their mail box next
week, including new timetables, an information flyer and two free single journey coupons that can be used on Devonport
and Bayswater feeder bus services (bus routes 779, 803, 804, 813, 815 only).
Residents could also be in the draw for a chance to win one of two Monthly Discovery Passes by filling in the short
survey included in the information pack, requesting their feedback on ferry and connecting bus services.
“The Devonport and Bayswater ferry feeder bus services are a great option for ferry passengers who don’t live in walking
distance from the ferry terminal. You can leave your car at home and hop on a feeder bus to the Bayswater or Devonport
ferry terminal – giving you convenient connections to ferry services. It’s a stress-free way to commute, especially with
the Devonport Bayswater Pass, which can be used for bus, ferry and rail travel,” Mr Lambert says.
The Devonport Bayswater Pass can be used on Ritchies and Stagecoach/North Star bus services between Takapuna and the
Devonport or Bayswater wharves, Fullers ferry services between the Devonport or Bayswater wharves and the Downtown Ferry
Terminal, and for train travel between Britomart and Kingsland (via Newmarket), Glen Innes and Ellerslie (via
Newmarket). The seven-day Devonport Bayswater Pass is available from the Fullers ticket offices at the Downtown Ferry
Terminal, and costs $39.00.
