AOS call out Wellington in Wellington District
At approx 22:30hrs on Tuesday the 19th of February 2008 Police responded to a call from 22 Tasman Street, Wellington in regards to threats being made with regards to a firearm.
When Police arrived they were able to ascertain that a person had been threatened by an occupant at the address with a firearm.
That this person was still in the address.
Given the situation with a large number of students present at the complex it was decided that the Armed Offenders Squad should be called and deal with the situation.
Upon arrival at the scene AOS surrounded the location and the person of interest was spoken to by the negoation team.
Police were able to get the male to leave the address without incident.
Police located an imitation glock pistol and an air rifle under a couch in his room.
One male was arrested and will be going to court to face charges.
