Westpac Rescue Helicopter Rescues Injured Tramper
The Wellington Based Westpac rescue Helicopter was called to a 54yr old
female at around 3pm today 18th Feb 08. The tramper was in Opau Bay which in
south of Makara Beach.
The Helicopter responded to the location with a Wellington Free Paramedic
onboard.
She had fallen over on some rocks and injured her left arm and was also
feeling sick. She was feeling to unwell to continue the walk.
The Helicopter was able to land on the beach a short distance from the
injured lady. With the assistance of the paramedic she was able to board the
helicopter.
The patient was then flown back to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department
where she is being assessed and treated for arm injury
