Suspicious Package: Mayoral Drive Auckland

Location of incident: MAYORAL DRIVE, AUCKLAND CITY
Incident type: SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE
At approximately 3.50pm this afternoon a suspicious package was discovered strapped to a railing at the rear of the Aotea Centre, Mayoral Drive, Auckland City.
Police have put in place cordons around the area and the Defence Force is en route to the scene. Mayoral Drive is closed off at the intersection of Wellesley Street and also at the intersection of Cook Street.
All motorists and members of the public are advised to stay away from the area.
