Arrest Of Aggravated Robbers Of Tourists @ Taipa
Kaitaia Police have this afternoon arrested four persons in connection with the aggravated robbery of two South American tourists at Taipa Beach , in the Far North last week.
Three males aged 14, 15 & 17 years have been charged jointly with Aggravated Robbery and the 4th a 15 year old female has been charged with Receiving property stolen in the robbery.
The arrests were made after five search warrants were executed in the Kaeo area this morning by Kaitaia, Kaikohe and Kerikeri police. A substantial amount of the stolen property has been recovered and an airpistol believed to have been used in the robbery has also been recovered.
The investigation is still ongoing and it is likely that the four will face further charges relating to the incident.
All four are appearing in the Kaitaia District Court this afternoon.
