Twenty20 cricket at Eden Park – show us your game ticket and ride the train for free!
Cricket fans who pre-purchase their ticket for the Twenty20 cricket game on Tuesday 5 February will be able to ride the
train to Eden Park for free.
Auckland Regional Transport Authority General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “A joint initiative between
the Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) and Eden Park will make it even easier for cricket lovers to travel to
the Twenty20 game between the Black Caps and England.
“To ride for free on train services to Eden Park, cricket supporters simply have to show their Eden Park members card or
their pre-purchased ticket for the Twenty20 match at Eden Park on Tuesday 5 February 2008. If you do not show your
ticket or membership card normal train fares apply. Remember to retain your ticket for the trip home!”
Free train travel applies from all stations and on all train services operating from 4pm onwards on Tuesday 5 February
2008.
Additional train services will be operating on all three lines to and from Kingsland train station, which is just five
minutes' walk from Eden Park.
In addition to additional and regular train services, several regular bus services will take cricket fans to Eden Park.
Free travel is not available on these buses. Normal bus fares from all stations apply.
Regular Dominion Road services (routes 25- and 26-) run approximately every 10 minutes from the St James stop on Queen
Street.
Regular bus routes 23- and 24- run approximately every 15 minutes from Victoria Street West in the CBD to Sandringham
Road by Eden Park.
Regular New North Rd services (routes 21- and 22-) run approximately every 15 minutes from Victoria Street West to
Kingsland shops, a short walk to Eden Park.
The free Eden Park shuttle bus service runs before the game from 5pm as well as after the game, with services running
approximately every 10 minutes. The shuttle bus travels in a loop from Eden Park Bus Park, via Reimers Ave, Sandringham
Road, Balmoral Road, Mt Eden Road, New North Road, Sandringham Road and Reimers Ave back to Eden Park Bus Park.
“Passengers are advised to allow plenty of time for their arrival at Eden Park,” says Mr Lambert.

ARTA and Eden Park have also worked with the Blues to enable Eden Park members and ticket holders to travel on trains or
buses to all Blues home games for free – simply by producing their relevant membership card or valid match ticket.
