Waimakariri River, Canterbury: Missing jetboat

At about 10pm on 23/1/08 Police were advised of a jetboat that had failed to return from a day trip on the Waimakariri River. There were two adults on board along with two chldren aged 15 & 11 years. They had launched the boat at Woodstock, just north of the Waimakariri Gorge. A search boat was sent up the river at 6am on 24/1/08 and the party was found safe and well. Their boat had broken down and they had spent the night at the Hamilton Hut. Any further enquiries can be directed to Oxford Police.
