New Zealand Police National News Release
22 January 2008
Operation Waikato, the homicide investigation into the death of Karen AIM, continues to focus on speaking to everyone who was out and about overnight on the 16th and 17th January 2008 in Taupo.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner, the officer in charge of the investigation, says that progress is being made. However, locating and speaking to all witnesses is taking time.
Mr Turner says that the scientists involved in the case have gone back to their laboratory in Auckland and are examining exhibits collected in Taupo.
Mr Turner says that the investigation team is focused and motivated.
Planning for a Memorial Service for Karen is taking place at the moment. It is hoped that details of this service will be released to the public tomorrow Wednesday the 23rd January 2008.
