Criminal Profiling Unit from Auckland arrives in Taupo

A Criminal Profiling Unit from Auckland arrived in Taupo yesterday to assist the Operation Waikato team investigating
the death of British woman Karen Aim.
Inquiry head, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said he had asked the unit to look at two aspects of the case file.
"Those are to examine the file for motive and identify any other lines of enquiry."
"Other forensic specialists and scientists are assisting with the forensic examination," said Mr Turner.
The Operation Waikato investigation team is now over 50 people strong.
Enquiries continue today with investigators working through information gathered from the public last week.
Officers are still catching up with people they were unable to talk to during the area canvas as well as contacting
people with new information.
Today Police are facilitating a meeting between various parties wanting to organise a suitable memorial service for
Karen.
This involves communicating and coordinating with the various people who will be involved.
All those involved are conscious that a number of factors have to be taken into account including the wishes of Karen's
family and friends.
No decisions have yet been made in respect of the memorial service at this point.
Mr Turner repeated his call to the person or persons responsible for the damage at Taupo Nui A Tia College overnight on
the 16th and 17th of January 2008 to come forward.
"As said earlier our focus is on resolving Karen's murder.
"Any person responsible for the wilful damage to the school should have nothing to fear by coming forward."
