Chance for Wellingtonians to remember Sir Ed
Acting Wellington Mayor Ian McKinnon says a Book of Remembrance will be opened tomorrow (Monday) so Wellingtonians can pay their respects to Sir Edmund Hillary.
“He was greatly admired by all New Zealanders and an international role model in so many ways. In the last few days a number of Wellingtonians have expressed a wish to pay their respects and to put their thoughts in writing – so the Book will be available to all.”
The Book will be available for signing from 12 noon tomorrow and Wellingtonians will be welcome to add their names and thoughts from 10am until 6pm each day thereafter until early next week. The Book will then be presented to Lady Hillary and the Hillary family.
The Book will be located in the Town Hall.
