Wayne Guppy leads Regions Mayors
Upper Hutt City Mayor Wayne Guppy was elected Chair of the Wellington Mayoral Forum last Friday . The Forum enables the Mayors of Wellington, Kapiti, Upper Hutt, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Masterton, Carterton , South Wairarapa and the Regional Council Chair to work on matters of common interest.
'While there are a number of other opportunities each month for discussions on how we can make progress in our region, the Mayoral Forum is a particularly valuable focal point because of the broad range of topics that it is able to deal with, in a relatively informal environment' adds Mayor Wayne Guppy.
New Mayors Rowan and Daniell, from Kapiti and Masterton respectively, are now part of what will be a very effective team, under the leadership of Mayor Guppy, that will ensure that the voice of all parts of the region is heard on the many important issues that will arise over the next year.
