$100 voucher offer in mail this weekend
Canterbury Civil Defence Emergency Management Group is advising residents of North, Mid and Central Canterbury to look in their mailbox for important civil defence information.
Residents of Kaikoura, Hurunui, Waimakariri, Selwyn, and Ashburton districts and Christchurch City will be receiving an informational flyer this weekend. This includes emergency radio frequencies, sector posts, welfare centres and important telephone numbers. Residents need to have this information during a civil defence emergency.
This information, usually found in the back of the Yellow Book (previously called Yellow Pages), was omitted from the 2007/2008 edition due to a technical error.
“We recommend that residents keep this information in a safe place, like the Yellow Book,” said John Fisher, Canterbury Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Manager.
Ten of these mailers will contain a special “Golden Ticket” to encourage residents to open the flyer and save the information. Prizes associated with the ”Golden Ticket” include a $100 voucher and important emergency supplies.
