Extra parking spaces for Havelock North
Havelock North visitors now have access to 30 time-limited car park spaces near the centre of the Village.
The Hastings District Council has converted 30 of the leased carparks on the old fire station site, on the corner of Porter Drive and Te Aute Road, to two-hour time limit parking, leaving 21 spaces as leased carparks.
Operations Services Manager Kevin Deacon said the new spaces would go some way toward meeting the identified need for an extra 35 spaces around the Village.
“We have been watching the demand for the leased parks over the past few months. It is fair to say the demand was not as great as we had expected, but I think we have settled on the right mix of leased and time-limited parking for the site.”
16 leased carparks remain available, at a cost $70/month. Motorists interested in leasing a space should contact Council on 878 0500.
