Disorder in Papakura

Incident Type: Disorder
Police were called to Dominion Road Papakura shortly before 8pm tonight to deal with a drunk male assaulting people.
On arrival police located the male and whilst dealing with him were confronted by a large group of drunk people. The communications centre received several phone calls from the public that the attending police were being attacked by a large crowd.
Numerous other police patrols were dispatched from Counties Manukau area and neighbouring police districts to assist.
With extra resources police were able to contain the situation and restore order. A number of Arrests for behavioural offences have resulted.
