Join Kev The Kiwi At A Park Near You!
Bring the family and join Kev the Wandering Kiwi this summer has he explores the regional parks and forests right on
your doorstep, with four great walking events suitable for all ages.
Every Thursday between 11 January and 1 February, staff from the Greater Wellington Regional Council will be leading
guided walks designed to encourage residents to get out and about, spend time with family and friends, explore their
region, and best of all keep healthy and active.
All walks are free and start at 10.30am and take about 1 ½ hours to complete. Two of the walks are suitable for mountain
buggies and all walk locations are picnic friendly.
-11 January – Tane’s Track, Tunnel Gully, Pakuratahi Forest, Upper Hutt (Buggy Walk option)
-18 January – Swingbridge Track, Kaitoke Regional Park, Waterworks Rd entrance, Kaitoke
- 25 January – Waterfall Track, Belmont Regional Park, Dry Creek entrance, Lower Hutt
- 2 February – Gums Loop Track, Wainuiomata Waterworks Recreation Area, Whitcher Grove, Wainuiomata (Buggy Walk option)
For participants comfort, it is recommended that they bring a drink bottle, wear sunscreen, sensible walking shoes and
a jacket. Dogs on leads are welcome. Walks will be cancelled in heavy rain – listen to Newstalk ZB.
Kev the Wandering Kiwi is a joint initiative of both Hutt and Upper Hutt City Councils and the Greater Wellington
Regional Council.
