Hotel's Pastry Team moves into Property Development
The InterContinental Wellington's chefs will be adding to Wellington's property boom this festive season as they create
Christmas treats for the hotel's guests and visitors.
In the hotel's lobby there will be a sumptuous range of goodies in the InterContinental's own Christmas Shop, where
visitors will find yuletide favourites such as stollen, a centuries-old traditional German bread rich with eggs milk and
butter but usually only slightly sweet.
The most famous Christmas stollen come from Dresden, Germany, but chefs at the InterContinental Wellington will be
making their own, along with other home-made temptations such as duck liver pate, pork and cranberry sausages, duck and
porcini rillette, and many more festive treats.
The Intercontinental Wellington's Pastry Team has also gone into the property development business, creating their very
own ginger bread houses for the lobby's Christmas Shop.
Other treats available include a selection of handmade biscuits, ginger bread Christmas trees, ginger bread Santas,
Christmas mince pies, and of course Christmas plum pudding with brandy sauce
Beyond the food, the InterContinental Wellington's Christmas will benefit the Wellington community.
The lobby will be home to a Christmas tree which guests and visitors can decorate with angels declaring Christmas wishes
to loved ones. Gold coins donated for the angels will help the Salvation Army to bring some extra Christmas cheer to
those who need it most.
