Canterbury-West Coast Road Closures

Incident Type: Canterbury-West Coast Roads
Update on Canterbury Roads.
Police in consultation with the Roading Authorities have again closed SHW 7 between Mouse Point (just North of Culverden) and the Hanmer turnoff. Trees are still falling across the road and it is unsafe for motorists.
SHE 73 at Arthurs Pass has now been closed due to flooding and slips. The Bealey River has breached its banks making the road impassible. It is anticipated that traffic will be stopped at Otira through to South of Halpins Corner near Bealey.
