Heritage Ambassador Award for 2006 to be presented
Relating some of the most scandalous and spine-tingling stories about
Christchurch since 1989 have earned Richard Greenaway this year's
Heritage Ambassador Award for 2006.
As the City Library genealogy librarian, Mr Greenaway's everyday work
became a major asset to Heritage Week when he was asked to host tours
around the city's historic cemeteries as an undertaker.
The award, part of this year's Carter Group Heritage Week 2006 programme, will be presented to Mr Greenaway at tomorrow night's Warners Heritage Quiz being held at Warners Hotel from 7pm.
The quiz is one of over 350 historic events which make up a programme available online at www.heritageweek.co.nz or in hardcopy from any Council service centre or library.
Groups can still join the quiz, but need to register by contacting Shirley Inwood on 941 8628 or by email at shirley.inwood@ccc.govt.nz
If teams come dressed up to emphasise the Carter Group Heritage Week 2006 theme: "Celebrate Great times, Great people, Great places", they may win one of the many spot prizes on offer during the evening.
