Letterbox drop in the Riccarton area a hoax
Overnight in the Riccarton area, a mailbox drop has been completed which says that the Christchurch City Council is to acquire residential properties from their owners under the Public Works Act.
The letter, which contains logos from both the Christchurch City Council and Westfield Riccarton, is a hoax and should be disregarded by property owners.
It appears that the letterbox drop has taken place on about four streets behind Riccarton Mall.
Christchurch Police have been alerted and are now investigating the incident.
No Council or Westfield representatives have been talking with any residents in the area.
