Further strategy briefing for Kapiti Coast residents
An additional briefing on the Wellington Regional Strategy (WRS) will be held for Kapiti residents at 7.00pm, Tuesday October17, in the Council Chambers.
At a briefing held on last night (Tuesday 10 October) it was apparent from responses that a number of residents had not received the strategy summary in their mailboxes. As a consequence they could not have known about the
scheduled meeting.
Spokesperson for Kapiti Coast District Council, Tony Cronin said pre-meeting checks were carried out by the Regional Strategy team with the company responsible for distribution of the summary.
“Assurances were given that the delivery had been accomplished but, despite that, many residents seem to have missed out so we’re having an additional briefing.
“This is an important proposal for the future of the Wellington region and for Kapiti and we want to ensure the people who want to be involved and feel they have something to contribute have the opportunity to do so.
“In the meantime if further information is required I urge people to check out www.wrs.govt.nz which has full copies of the documents. Alternatively, if they ring us on (04) 296 4700, we’ll send a copy” Mr Cronin said.
