NEWS RELEASE - 11 OCTOBER 2006
Toast Martinborough Tickets Sell Out in Record Time!
Tickets to this year's Toast Martinborough wine and food festival have sold out in record time.
Organiser Cath Hopkin said the 10,000 tickets sold out in just under 2 hours which is a record for the past 6 years.
"We've been overwhelmed at the demand for this year's festival tickets. It's fantastic that even after 15 years in operation, Toast Martinborough is as popular as ever," she said.
"There were 5,000 sold after 20 minutes on sale."
Cath Hopkin said that an increase in the number of people joining as 'Friends of Martinborough' had put pressure on this year's tickets. People registering as Friends are able to purchase a limited number of tickets just prior to the public sales.
"Aside from that, it seems the Festival's ongoing appeal is the main factor in maintaining demand for the event."
