Highland Gathering
The Upper Hutt Highland Gathering is back again For its 5th year, so don yer kilt and get ready for the only true event of its kind in the Wellington region. A Scottish festival held in Harcourt Park, Upper Hutt attracting nationwide highland dancing, drumming and piping competitors on Saturday 14th October.
The competitions run from 9.30am-4.00pm and other festivities such as Paraparaumu & Districts Pipeband demonstration and free children’s games will be held around midday.
Find out if you are Wellington’s next Strongest Man by “Tossing the Caber” at this years Strongman Competition commencing after the lunch break. It’s free to enter and registrations will be taken on the day to be in to win one of eight meat packs sponsored by Export Meat Warehouse Upper Hutt.
There will also be clan tents, Scottish stalls and memorabilia, children’s entertainment, plus refreshments available on site.
The Upper Hutt Highland Gathering is the first FREE event of the Upper Hutt City Council Summer Event Series in partnership with the Upper Hutt Highlanders Incorporated, supported by Community First Foundation and Creative Communities Upper Hutt.
