Busway traffic bulletin: friday 6 october to sunday 15 October
Transit New Zealand advises motorists of next week’s proposed closures for work on State Highway 1 for Northern Busway
construction (weather permitting).
Friday 6 – Thursday 12 October
ESMONDE RD
Esmonde Rd westbound between Burns Ave & Barrys Point Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for demolition of old Shoal Bay Bridge.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Lake Rd and Anzac St.
Sunday 8 and Monday 9 October
ESMONDE RD & NORTHCOTE RD
All SH1 Motorway lanes northbound between Esmonde Rd & Northcote Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning for lane realignment (contingency closure).
- Note this contingency closure will only take place if unforseen circumstances delay the original closure.
- This closure will not take place at the same time as Esmonde Rd SH1 northbound off-ramp closure.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Northcote Rd on-ramp.
Sunday 8 – Tuesday 10 October
WAIRAU RD
Wairau Rd northbound between Forrest Hill Rd and Porana Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm – 5am the following morning for
lane realignment.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Forrest Hill Rd.
Sunday 8 – Thursday 12 October
ESMONDE RD
Northbound off-ramp from SH1 to Esmonde Rd - CLOSED - from 9pm until 5am the following morning for barrier realignment.
- As part of this closure the Akoranga Dr eastbound link will be closed at the same times.
- Diversion via Northcote Rd off-ramp.
Sunday 8 - Thursday 12 October
NORTHCOTE RD & ONEWA RD
All SH1 Motorway lanes southbound between Northcote Rd & Onewa Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am the following morning for lane realignment.
- As part of this closure the Northcote Rd SH1 southbound on-ramp will be closed from 9pm on the same nights.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Onewa Rd on-ramp.
Sunday 8 – Sunday 15 October
ESMONDE RD
Southbound on-ramp from Esmonde Rd to SH1 – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for connection
of the new on-ramp.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Onewa Rd on-ramp.
Monday 9 – Thursday 12 October
ESMONDE RD
The left hand turn from Barrys Point Rd into Esmonde Rd – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning
for work on Shoal Bay Bridge.
- Motorists are advised to follow the diversion via Burns Ave.
