City support for business showcasing events
Auckland City has agreed the criteria it will use for a new fund it has set up to support business and industry events that showcase the city’s economic attractions and competitiveness.
Up to $50,000 is available to assist industry organisations undertake events that position Auckland nationally and internationally as a desirable place to do business.
The approved criteria for business events likely to benefit are those which:
• profile Auckland city’s business and industry sectors
• are aligned with the council’s economic development goals
• support business and employment growth and networking
• support events encouraging innovation and creativity.
Economic Development and Sustainable Business Committee chairperson, Councillor Richard Northey, said that supporting quality business events enables Auckland City to forge partnerships with, and promote, business and industry sectors central to the city’s competitiveness.
