Temporary lane closures on Wairau Road
As part of the Northern Busway Project, Wairau Road will be reduced to one lane in both directions for two weeks, from 10pm on Friday 22 September until 5am on Monday 9 October.
Both westbound lanes will be closed on Wairau Road between Porana and Forrest Hill Roads, and motorists travelling in that direction will be temporarily moved onto one of the eastbound lanes.
The work is to lay the foundations for the new Wairau Road overpass. The new bridge will carry the motorway and the Northern Busway over Wairau Road.
The closure has been timed to coincide with school holidays to limit any impact on local traffic.
The footpath on the southern side of Wairau Road will also be closed and pedestrians should use the northern side.
Transit apologises in advance for any inconvenience and thanks you for your co-operation during the closure period.
For more information on the closure phone 0800 325 545 or visit www.busway.co.nz to learn more about the Northern Busway project.
For your passenger transport options; see www.maxx.co.nz for bus routes and timetables.
