Popular children’s book gets star treatment
Manukau Libraries are excited to announce that their celebrity guest reader for Library Week 2006 is film and television star Taungaroa Emile.
Taungaroa is well known for his role as Boogie in Once Were Warriors for which he won a NZ Film and Television Award, as well as his recent films, No 2 and Whale Rider. He has also appeared in Shortland Street, Hercules, Xena, Mercy Peak and The Market.
This year the Library Association of New Zealand (LIANZA) has chosen Margaret Mahy’s ‘Down the Back of the Chair’ as the national celebrity story.
You’ll be able to catch Taungaroa reading this popular children’s book at Botany Library in the Botany Town Centre and Westfield Mall – Centre Stage, Manukau City Centre on Wednesday 20th September:
