COMMUNITY COALITION SUPPORTS LOCKED OUT WORKERS
Over 150 Mangere people attended a meeting at the Pukapuka Community Centre tonight to pledge support for the locked out
workers at the Progressive Enterprises distribution centre in Mangere.
Representatives of a wide cross-section of community organisations and churches unanimously agreed to set up a steering
group to coordinate fund-raising activities and collections throughout Mangere, and support the Favona Rd picket.
The meeting, chaired by Manukau City councillor Su'a William Sio, also called for a community boycott of Progressive's
retail stores until the dispute is settled.
