Get connected with Library Week 06 at Auckland City Libraries
Auckland City Libraries invites you to get connected with Library Week 06 at your local community library from 18 - 24 September.
Library Week 06 is a nationwide initiative across both school and public libraries that celebrates what fantastic and important places libraries are in the community and the incredible world of books, resources and information that librarians can connect you with.
Some great events happening at your local community library during this week include Join New Zealand's biggest storytime - a storytime that will be read throughout New Zealand at libraries and participating schools on Wednesday 20 September. This will be a book reading of international award winning author Margaret Mahy's popular children's book, "Down the back of the chair". Check out our website to find out when your local library is holding this special storytime.
Children can enter a PSIS competition to win $100 in a PSIS Dollars and Sense Account simply by using their imagination by drawing a picture of the amazing things they find down the back of their chair at home. To enter, pick up an entry form from your local library during Library Week 06 or go to the PSIS website . Entries close 31 October 2006.
Library Week 06 is also a great opportunity to get the most from your online library experience. Learn how to navigate through Auckland City Libraries catalogue, our Digital Library and My Info - a guide to your personal online library information. Come in for a visit to ask your librarian how.
Library Week 06 is proudly supported by PSIS and organised by the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA ).
