Some of Waikato Museum’s many treasures can now be seen online with today’s launch of the new website www.waikatomuseum.co.nz
Crammed full of a range of useful information about the museum and its collections, the website caters for the needs of the public, museum visitors, students, and researchers wanting to know more about the rich history and culture of Hamilton and the Waikato.
Key features of the site include:
• Present, past and future exhibition listings
• Tour and specialist programme information
• Photo album and email postcards
• Collections of stories about the Waikato
• Schools information
The website also offers the opportunity for site visitors to become involved with the site through submitting online their own stories about the Waikato, becoming a Friend of the museum, or provide feedback on the new website.
Waikato Museum director Kate Vusoniwailala said the new website is an excellent reflection of the depth and breadth of history and art treasures on offer at the museum.
“The new website offers visitors all they need to know about our museum – from current exhibitions, our different collections, through to when to visit and where to eat at the museum.
“We’ve been looking forward to improving our online offering, and I’m delighted with how well the site showcases what we have on offer.“
