New accommodation in the heart of Queen Street
Auckland's latest serviced apartment hotel, the Quest on Queen, will open at 62 Queen Street , in the heart of the city's business and entertainment district.
With a number of office/building restorations and many new large corporate offices opening in the downtown/viaduct harbour area, as well as the Britomart Station opening & the Vector Sports Stadium due to open this year; Quest identified the need to open a facility that could cater for a large diversity of clientele.
The 60 apartment building, developed by Norfolk Trustees, has 36 apartments leased to Quest. Working with a well-established and experienced developer, Quest on Queen_s final product will have high quality/stylish fittings & inclusions that will make an ideal 1 night, 1 week, or 1 month plus stay.
The Quest on Queen will be managed by Ngawai Walden; a graduate of the New Plymouth based Pacific International Hotel Management School. At 27 Ms Walden is the first Maori General Manager in the Quest Group and one of its youngest. Since graduating in 1999, Ms Walden has trained at both the Quest Auckland and Duxton Auckland apartment hotels in Auckland.
In announcing the opening, Ms Walden said _ All 36 of the one-bedroom apartments are of a 4 + star rating, and offer full cooking facilities, laundry, Sky TV and the latest in Technology including Free Broadband Access, yet will have that something special from the people on our team, hand picked for their personal guest skills._.
The building will be officially opened by past Governor General & Chancellor of AUT Sir Paul Reeves and Maori elders of Ngati Whatua on Thursday 3rd August 2006 at 7am, in a traditional Maori dawn blessing ceremony. This sure to impress Queen st visitors for the uniqueness of the celebration, for Auckland and for Quest.
This brings to over one hundred the number of Quest operated apartment hotels in Australasia.
Commenting on the opening Quest New Zealand Managing Director Stephen Mansfield said_ Quest on Queen is located in a strategic position that will allow it to meet the serviced apartment accommodation needs of both the Corporate and Leisure traveller who both want to be close to the entertainment and restaurant precinct of the water front and also prime commercial and shopping precincts of Auckland Central_.
The Quest Group now has 21 properties in New Zealand.
We welcome you to our blessing and to tour our Brand New facility prior to, during or after our official opening. Or we are happy to accommodate you for any interviews.
