Help Develop a ‘Master Plan’ for Beachlands
Beachlands residents are being asked to share their vision and ideas on the possible future growth and development of the Beachlands study area at a workshop next month.
Manukau City Council is holding a community planning workshop where the focus will be on exploring the impacts that growth may have on the Beachlands study area.
- Part 1: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday 12 August 2006
- Part 2: 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Monday 21 August 2006
Manukau City Councillor and representative for the Clevedon ward, Jan Sinclair comments that the growth and development of Beachlands is a key issue for the community: “I encourage members of the community and other interested parties to come along to the interactive workshop to help build up a picture of what growth in the study area might look like.”
“The workshop will enable us to better assess the impacts of any growth before we decide on a preferred growth strategy for the Beachlands Study area.”
Participants in the two-part workshop will work in groups to develop their vision for the study area. All ideas will then be put together in a draft ‘Master Plan’ and presented at the second day of the workshop for discussion.
Places are limited due to limited space and registration is essential. For further information and to register by 28 July 2006 contact Alia Cederman, phone 09 262 8900, ext 5828 or email: acederma@manukau.govt.nz.
