Paekakariki village upgrade running smoothly
The Paekakariki village centre’s upgrade began on Friday 14 July and the infrastructure updates are running smoothly, Kapiti Coast District Council, Construction Manager David Ward said today.
The initial programme involves an extensive upgrade and beautification of the south side of Beach Road. When the apartment block on the north side is completed, an upgrade programme will be carried out on that side.
“Work began on Sunday evening to replace the water main and install new valves. This work was completed early on Monday morning.
“The new storm water gully traps and pipework arrived on Wednesday July 19, and installation has started,” David said.
Mr Ward says work on the new footpath and planting would begin Monday July 24, from the west end of Beach Road towards the shopping centre. This work will continue until the end of August.
