Businesses commit long term to Great Race Ball
As the winter ball session hits town, organisers of Hamilton's premier ball, the King Street Great Race Ball, have today announced ongoing commitments from key naming and associate partners, that will see the best party in town continue with some certainty for the next three years.
The annual masquerade ball is fast becoming an iconic event for the Waikato. King Street Advertising reconfirmed their commitment to the concept by contracting naming rights to the event for the next three years. Also committing to the next three years as the associate ball partner was another local business, Schick Cartage and Construction. This continues both businesses involvement from last year.
King St, specialists in advertising and marketing, were naming right sponsor last year in a one year only arrangement. Their desire to support Waikato owned and organised events that show creativity and innovation means this event was an obvious proposition to extend their commitment with. King St CEO Chris Williams, believes the "The King St Great Race Ball is the best event of it's type going. It's creative, innovative, colourful and fun - everything we try to be. We are delighted to have signed up for another three years."
Schick Construction and Cartage of Hamilton a locally owned and operated business provided the inspiration for last years unforgettable dancing, 24 ton diggers. Schick's Managing Director, Pat Peoples was delighted to be involved again. "Schick's are proud to support an extremely classy local event that captures the imagination while retaining a real Waikato feel to it."
The 2nd September Ball, to be held at the WEL Energy Trust Academy of Performing Arts on the University of Waikato campus, will provide guests with a wonderful experience of some of the Great Parties of The World. Seven rooms of entertainment will showcase the best of local and national musical talent, as guests party the night away at Glastonbury (UK), the Berlin Love Parade, New Years Eve in New York and a heaving St Patrick's Day Party in Ireland, to name but a few of the delights in store.
Gallagher Great Race and King St Great Race Ball company director Mark Ingle believes the 2006 ball will be the best yet. "The essence of the event is captured in the Ball theme for this year - Great Parties of the World. We have reviewed how all spaces are used and guarantee experienced Ball goers will be in for a nice surprise. There is so much going on that it will be a challenge to see and experience every aspect of the event, unless guests can be in half a dozen places at once!!"
The event was a sell out last year, with an estimated 250 people missing out. Growing interest means organisers have expanded the venue through the addition of more marquees and the use of an adjacent building to accommodate another 300 people. With 1,800 people queuing this year for tickets it seems likely that people will be disappointed again.
Tickets for the ball are $150 and go on sale on the 1st July via the King St Great Race Ball official website www.theball.co.nz, Ticketdirect outlets nationwide, including the WEL Energy Trust Academy of Performing Arts and the Ticketdirect free phone on 0800 48 42 538.
