CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 24 June until Thursday 29 June
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction
upgrade over the next week.
CMJ Stage 1
Ramp and link closures
Monday 26 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5:30am the following morning:
. Gillies Ave on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Monday 26 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5:30am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) to Khyber Pass Road off-ramp northbound
Monday 26 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5:30am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) to Khyber Pass Road on-ramp southbound

Sunday 25 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp
Sunday 25 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Fanshawe St on-ramp

. Port to Northwestern and Wellesley St on-ramp (SH16) link westbound
Sunday 25 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Wellington St on-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Sunday 25 and Monday 26 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
Sunday 25 until Tuesday 27 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway to Southern Motorway (SH16 to SH1) link southbound
. Northwestern Motorway to Port (SH16) link
Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
Tuesday 27 until Thursday 29 June - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 5am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound to St Lukes Rd off-ramp
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of
motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St. The
SH16 Newton Rd to Western Springs Auxiliary Lane westbound widening project is included in CMJ Stage 2 works.
