Taylors Mistake Rd closed for sewerage pipe repair
The bottom end of Taylors Mistake Road will be closed to vehicle traffic until later tonight due to a burst sewerage pipe.
The rupture has meant contractors must dig up the road to repair the pipe. No sewage has leaked as a tanker is draining effluent from a holding tank beside a pump station and transporting it to the treatment ponds.
Residents of properties from number 180 Taylors Mistake Road down to the beach are not able to drive to their homes. However, a council community van has been placed on the beach side of the road works and is taxiing residents to their homes.
School buses and emergency services have been notified of the closure.
