CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 3 June until Thursday 8 June
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.
CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Tuesday 6 until Wednesday 7 June - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Wellington St on-ramp to Northern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Ramp and link closures:
Tuesday 6 until Thursday 8 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Hobson St on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound
. Northwestern Motorway to Southern Motorway (SH16 to SH1) link eastbound
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Port eastbound link
Wednesday 7 until Thursday 8 June - CLOSED - overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port /Wellesley St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St. The SH16 Newton Rd to Western Springs Auxiliary Lane westbound widening project is included in CMJ Stage 2 works.
