AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
MEDIA RELEASE

Property information at your fingertips
Planning to buy or develop a home? Important information is available on www.aucklandcityproperty.govt.nz, Auckland City's new online property page.
Launched last week, the new web page enables homebuyers and property developers to access Auckland City's wide range of property information without having to go through the council's homepage or visit their offices at 35 Graham Street.
"This new web page will make it easier for people to do business with us and get the information they need more quickly," says Auckland City’s service development manager, Martin Hall.
“Auckland City has information relating to every property and development occurring within the city’s boundaries and we encourage people to consult council resources when buying, building or developing.”
The web address takes visitors straight to a site highlighting Auckland City’s five property products, which can be purchased and viewed online with just one click. These are:
- LIM reports, to help identify any issues or potential development restrictions a property has before you buy (priced from $210)
- property file CDs, which contain all the information Auckland City holds on a property (priced from $45)
- neighbourhood reports, which tell you what building activity is planned and what licences are held near the property you're planning to buy ($95)
- building consent reports, which tell you whether all the building work on a property has been approved ($9.95)
- rates online, which gives you rates information by property, including 2002 and 2005 capital values, land area and construction type (available free of charge).
The new online property page was launched as part of a new drive by Auckland City to make it quick and easy to access information on properties within the city.
