Dog destroyed after attack in Te Atatu
Waitakere Animal Welfare has destroyed a pit bull terrier that attacked a young child and her mother when they were
walking near Rutherford Primary School in Te Atatu Peninsula yesterday.
The child suffered a bite that required a number of stitches at hospital. The mother was also bitten but did not require
hospital treatment.
The owner surrendered the dog after the attack.
