Fanshawe Street road works
* Work begins today to upgrade traffic signals at the intersection of Beaumont and Fanshawe streets and at the intersection of Beaumont and Daldy streets.
* There will be some traffic signal shutdowns while this work is completed. Police pointsmen will be at these intersections during the scheduled traffic signal shutdowns. The upgraded traffic signals are due to be in full operation by the weekend.
* From Friday, there will be no right hand turn from Fanshawe Street into Beaumont Street. This is a permanent measure to reduce congestion as well as for traffic safety reasons. Access to Westhaven and the surrounding area will be via Daldy or Halsey streets.
* From Friday, there will be no pedestrian crossing from the corner of Fanshawe and Beaumont streets to Victoria Park. Pedestrians are advised to use the new crossing near Daldy Street.
* These works are part of Auckland City's Fanshawe Street widening and bus lane project, connecting with the Northern Busway.
