Beachlands and Maraetai Community Groups do you need space?
Manukau City Council wants to know if community groups in Beachlands and Maraetai have adequate meeting facilities.
Council has commissioned the Community Meetings Space Study to gather information about present and future community space needs. Community Services Planner for Manukau City Council, Jim Donald says “It is important that all residents have their say.
“The opening of Te Puru Community Centre last year means there is more space available in facilities such as the Beachlands and Maraetai Halls. The survey will help us identify the needs of community groups in the area and if those needs are being met, “says Mr Donald.
Two public meetings will be held next week:
Monday 3 April at 7pm in Beachlands Hall
Thursday 6 April at 10am in Maraetai Hall
Longdill and Associates who are conducting the study for Council will also look at the wider options for community facilities in the area such as size and type of meeting space and what activities the halls could be used for.
For more information on the study contact the Project Facilitator Judi Longdill phone 534 125, email judi.longdill@clear.net.nz.
