Auckland City will welcome expatriate New Zealanders and international guests who have made major contributions to New
Zealand's success internationally at the World Class New Zealand Awards 2006.
The awards (Wednesday 1 March) are a part of New Thinking 2006, a week of activities and events aimed at promoting New
Zealand's creative and technological capabilities to international partners. New Thinking is an initiative of NZBio,
Incubators New Zealand, Kea and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
"We are proud to support this event that enables us to recognise and celebrate professional achievement," said Dick
Hubbard, Mayor of Auckland city.
"We are focused on attracting, retaining and expanding business, and backing it up with much-needed infrastructure," he
said.
"This event is a fantastic opportunity for us to network, learn and to be inspired by entrepreneurial business people
who have reached the pinnacle of their professions," said Mr Hubbard.
Auckland City's Invest Auckland programme helps business growth and investment in the city by providing information to
assist the investment decision, facilitating introductions to networks of professional and business contacts and by
