Come join the fun at Omana Children's Day
22 February 2006
This year the popular Omana Children's Day promises to be better than ever with more farm fun for the whole family.
The annual family event, being held on Sunday 5 March at Omana Regional Park, has something for everyone.
This year visitors can go for a ride on a merry-go-round, listen to some fantastic story telling or watch a puppet show, take a ride on a tractor and see mighty Clydesdale horses.
"We have a big sandpit for children to play in and lots of fun games like throwing the gumboot for the bigger kids," says ARC Park Ranger Mags Ramsey
"There will be food for sale but families might like to bring a picnic, settle under one of the majestic old Pohutukawa and take in the beautiful setting overlooking the islands of the Hauraki Gulf."
"Everyone leaves Omana Children's Day with a big smile on their face!"
Omana is an ideal family park with picnic spots, camping, safe swimming at high tide and gentle walks. Friendly farm animals, a variety of native birdlife and native forest, and a strong cultural history make a visit to Omana an enjoyable learning experience as well.
